Summary
Just their luck: Garak and Bashir are stranded together on an uninhabited alien planet. Over months, a mission for survival and a need to share body heat on chilly nights evolves into comfortable domesticity, with physical contact given and received whenever craved. But all perfect things must of course be ruined: their rescue team arrives. Only then do Garak and Bashir realise how intimate they’ve become without realising, and suddenly their shared urge to show gratuitous affection seems inappropriate as friends. But they can’t give it all up, now... can they?

Summary
Dr. Stede Bonnet is a professor of English at University of the Sea, Washington. He lives alone, his two children and ex-wife having moved east several years before. He pines to move into teaching drama with the large bulk of his scholarship involving pre-modern playwrights, most importantly Shakespeare.
Dr. Edward Teach is a professor of History at USea, Washington. He is known as the campus pirate expert, teaching a class each semester on the history of the Caribbean. His most recent book was a scholarly work on the Golden Age of Piracy.
The two meet when a group of students form a Games Club, asking Stede to be their advisor and Ed to run a Seventh Sea game. Stede joins in the game thinking it will get him out of the house and give him a chance to be more accessible to students.
Can these two navigate their pasts, ex-partners, collegiate politics, their parents and their own stubborn belief that they can go this life alone?
