Summary
Bioluminescence is light given off by a chemical reaction in a living organism, like glow in the dark fishies deep in the ocean, or those sparks you see in the waves on a hot summer night, or a firefly showing off its colors, or the gold foxfire on that tree stump in the garden, glowing like candles in the yard.
Once people thought they were fairies, others thought them to be ghosts, but, as Rodney knows, there is always a logical explanation.
He hopes.
Because ghosts aren't real.
Right?

Summary
"Funny thing was, even though I rarely watched soap operas myself, I became sort of secondarily addicted to them, through my gram telling me about them. It was a great form of escape, to hear about these people, to feel like they were almost part of your family, to hear about them growing and changing and forming relationships and the like...." Carson looked down towards the gate room. "And I miss it. But then I realized, I have something now I didn't have then." He favored her with a bright smile. "A really big family to care for and watch grow, which is so much better."
Elizabeth's expression was uncertain. "A family?"
"Oh, I know, we don't all get along, and there's been tension and some bad blood, but there's been a lot of good as well." He smiled. "Watching the relationships that have formed, even the ones that would have seemed impossible back home, has been one of my favorite things to do." He waved out at the Gate Room. "This is my TV. I come here to sit back, relax, and just people watch."
