"You're lucky you're cute," he says teasingly. "I give you the princess treatment and this is how you treat me." He smirks, biting his lower lip so as to not snicker too obviously. "So cruel."
She shows him how cruel she can be. She nips at his thigh.
He yelps, jerks in place, then wheezes in disbelief, the sound ridiculous like the whistle of a boiling kettle. "That's not very princess-like of you."
She childishly sticks her tongue out at him. "Keep teasing and I'll give you a real bite."
She understands she can be a lot. She is a lot. But it's not like he isn't either. It makes whatever they've got going on between them pleasantly more chaotic. What are Amy and Sonic if not chaotic?

When Amy falls sick, Sonic spends the night at her home to care for her. Unfurtently for him, Amy's got just enough energy to mess with him.

Tails had to witness just how much of a hedgehog his brother and Amy can really be at times.
Sonic couldn't lecture Amy about stubbornness. He couldn't tell her to stop being a hedgehog. She closed her eyes to laugh some more, her half-curled fist politely near her mouth. She might’ve missed the soft, passionate look in Sonic's eyes when he looked at her.
But Tails saw it.
His big brother lost in love.
Or,
Tails watches as his big brother gradually falls hard for the other hedgehog. Hedgehogs aren't subtle creatures, after all.
