Summary
Shi Qingxuan wishes to repent to the one he things he owns it the most, taking up the last journey he probably will, he can feel it in his bones.
But seeing the dark sea the courage is beginning to fade. Not anylonger sure what to say and only a little pearl he had found on the way as comfort, the world before his eyes went black.
The next thing he sees are Bone Fish surrounding him. Only acting out of reflex to hold them at bay, but there are no hands to do so! Instead there are just fins!

Summary
Following a near-death incident in the capital, Shi Qingxuan wakes up in Nether Water Manor to her injuries having been seen to, and the close supervision of some pesky skeletal fish. By 'some', she means a swarm, and by 'wakes up', she means 'they dropped a gemstone on her face while she was sleeping'. But He Xuan isn't present, so she can explore a little, figure out what secrets a Ghost King has to hide away in his house where he doesn't let anyone see. Or, perhaps, what secrets he's left for her to find.

It had started with a prayer.
One of many, floating from the mortals below to the glittering heavens. In the age of reason, so few people prayed. They may give their offerings and pay lip service, but Gods were privy to the truth of their hearts, and many had lost the faith in prayers and in their Gods. Though they reigned, Shi Qingxuan knew all they had was held in a tenuous grasp.
It was so easy to be forgotten. Whenever a prayer reached her ears, Shi Qingxuan was quick to throw herself into work. However, this prayer had led her to something she would have never expected.
To touch down in a field of unchecked growth was already strange in the modern world; stranger still was the verdant vines growing on what was once developed land. The people who had built here had clearly fled the encroaching wilderness. Roping vines covered buildings, and smartly red flowers budded from the ground. When Shi Qingxuan had touched one, its petals had reshaped into the form of a slim, nude woman. A syrupy finger had traced her lips before Ming Yi had pulled her away. Then, she had lifted them into the air on a summoned breeze and deposited them here.

“Pl-please?” A gasp nearly ruined the word, but he got it out. Opening his eyes wider took some effort, but Shi Qingxuan got a handle on himself so he could coquettishly bat his eyes at He Xuan.
Cold as stone, He Xuan replied, “You will take all four fingers first.”
Grumbling, Shi Qingxuan exasperatedly asked, “why? I never have before.”
“You know why.”
“I want to hear you say it.”
He Xuan took his eyes away from the work he was...very invested in. “Two is better than one.”
