Lucia seemed to be messing around with her friends, laughing at some random joke between the three of them, playfully flicking peas in each other’s directions. Amelia rolled her eyes, diverting her focus to her food. There was no reason for her to put any energy into watching someone who annoyed her to her core, no matter how mad she was from that morning.
Almost on cue, Skara cleared her throat to catch Amelia’s attention, and gestured in Lucia’s direction.
“Y’know that girl you’re always fighting with over there? Lucia?” Skara asked, waving her fork in the air. “I heard she started dating this popular guy.”
Amelia’s spoon stilled.
‘Dating.’
What?
Amelia hates Lucia. She hates her stupid beanie, her stupid voice, her stupid hair. Everything.

Jax’s eyes flickered upwards, and for a very brief moment they met Thomas’, who quickly looked away and found his seat. Thomas shook his head. Maybe he just wanted to be like him. That made sense.
He picked up his pencil, and despite willing himself to stay concentrated on the test paper, he found his gaze wandering away every once in a while.
Like Pomni said, Thomas thought, he just seems pretty cool.
That’s all.Jax was cool. Like, extremely cool. It made sense that Pomni liked him (well, Thomas was pretty sure Pomni liked him, at least). Thomas was just jealous, just envious of his new rival, and that’s why he was so drawn to him… almost to the point of obsession.
That’s normal, right?

Luz tentatively reaches for the knob of the clinic, her bat gripped tightly in her other fist in case a zombie stands at the other side, and —
She lets out a gasp when an arm wraps around her stomach, yanking her backwards as a sharp machete hovers in front of her neck.
“You listen to me right now,“ a girl with green hair hisses. “Drop your weapon.”
A disease has spread to the majority of the population, leaving everyone in a zombie-like state save for the lucky survivors. Luz Noceda and Amity Blight put aside their initial bickering and struggle to survive in an apocalyptic world.
What they soon learn, however, is that there’s much more to this situation than a simple infection.

Summary
Amelia Blight was the most intimidating witch in Hexside University.
Messy and boldly dyed hair, spiked bracelets, chokers, and a demeanor that made almost everyone shrink on the spot. She had a carefully chosen friend group — not that she really liked them, as it was her parents who decided who she’d be around, but they were her sole company nonetheless — and nobody else dared try to bother her. She was both admired and feared.
And along with that, she was the top of her class. She excelled in every subject, aced every test with ease. She was quick, witty, and sharp. Perfect for her studies and perfect for crafting meticulous insults towards anybody who got in her way.
Unless she was in front of Lucia Noceda.
In that case, her brain melted to mush and her flirting skills became about as useful as palisman vomit.
Amelia Blight, who can usually flirt with practically any girl and make them fall to their knees, tries to ask a cute human out with her usual talent. But for some reason, this one makes her feel too tongue-tied and flustered to get a single coherent sentence out.

As much as Luz enjoyed being told these things, she knew they weren’t really true at all. Amity Blight? Look in her direction that way? Likely about as probable as The Good Witch Azura coming to life in front of her.
But, as her eyes trailed towards the rugby captain, who donned a signature confident grin and stretched her arms out before practice, Luz couldn’t help but wish.Luz Noceda has been cheerleading all throughout the first semester, during of which she developed a huge crush on the rugby captain, Amity Blight. She'd never expected to be someone who could catch Amity's eye, especially after an awkward first conversation, but life is full of surprises.

Now she's dying on top of being stuck in a different realm, all because she's too afraid to tell her best friend how she feels about her.
