    Summary

"That cough still sounds awful...Did you take any cold medicine?"
"Don’t need to, I don’t have a- *cough cough cough cough*"
"Dunno man, sounds like a cold..."
"No, it’s not. And we are too broke for cold medicine."
"I think it’s very inspiring that you believe pure denial can conquer the common cold. I’ll take a leaf out of your book when I inevitably catch it. "
    "Idiots can’t catch colds."

When Lu Guang comes down with pneumonia, the fever dreams have him convinced he's drowning, and Cheng Xiaoshi would do anything to make him feel better.

Nirei had never been one to frequent tea shops, let alone develop a routine around one. Yet, here he was, standing outside the quaint little tea house with the wooden sign that read "Rosewood Tea Shop."

    Summary

Despite being his best friend, roommate, and business partner, there was surprisingly little that Cheng Xiaoshi really knew about Lu Guang.

His roommate rarely shared anything about his past life. In fact, to-date, all that Cheng Xiaoshi had been able to pry out of him was that he was:

    1. An only child
    2. Allergic to bananas

Cheng Xiaoshi was still unsure if that second one was an actual allergy, or just one of those things Lu Guang said because he didn’t enjoy the fruit's texture.

He was unsure about a lot of things about Lu Guang. It frustrated him.

The younger boy was decidedly a closed book. Conversations about their childhoods always circled back to Cheng Xiaoshi, so did ones about their parents, friends, and dating lives before they met each other. Cheng Xiaoshi had been able to shrug it off before, but the longer they knew each other the more it felt like Lu Guang was keeping secrets.

He seemed particularly nervous about the topic of romance.

    Or:

Cheng Xiaoshi decides to pry. Why would his best friend be keeping secrets? Would he ever be ready to share?

    Summary

When did Lu Guang’s faint smirks start making him feel feather-light and honey-bright?
When did his encouragement after a hard job make him feel like he could conquer gods?
When did the mere thought of him being hurt or in pain shatter him down to the bone?
When did the mere sight of him make him feel exactly how he felt in Xu Shanshan’s body when she’d look at Dong Yi?
He doesn’t know when, he doesn’t even know how.
    All he does know is…

…He can’t possibly be in love with Lu Guang…
    …Right?

Or: Cheng Xiaoshi realizes he loves Lu Guang

    Summary

After his bonding-slash-lets-just-randomly-talk-about-feelings time with Rei and the surprisingly effective speech he gave to him, Jin can't force his brain to focus on literally anything else during the day.

"Dude. Why you're vibrating?" Chiaki, with whom he takes maths, whispers to him while scribbling notes.

Jin can't really respond, so he just shrugs and hopes that's enough of an answer. His friend gives him a resigned head shake, which is accompanied by a pretty judgemental look on his face if you ask Jin.

    "You're such a mess."

Yeah. Absolutely judgemental. Honestly, all of his friends are just so fucking rude. At the same time, Chiaki's right, Jin acknowledges. He really should concentrate on his lessons, now more than ever as their entrance exams are getting closer and closer. And Jin really, really wants to earn good scores. He'll need them. God, he is a mess. And he can't see Giichi for another two hours.

    ---

A very short fic in which nothing really happens, but somehow there is still angst and the boys kiss at the end.
