Summary
After ignoring his phone in favor of getting split in two by his situationship, Shane is stranded in Boston at the start of the zombie apocalypse.
Ilya is left with nowhere to go, and Shane refuses to leave him behind. In order to survive, they have to cross the Canadian border and get to the cottage, together.
But getting to Canada is far easier said than done. When Ilya is badly injured, their road-trip becomes a race against the dead—and the infection spreading through Ilya’s leg.

“Oh, I know great deal about the Knight of Khlia,” Ilya pronounced the title like he was mocking it, drawing out the words and leaving space between them. Shane wanted to roll his eyes at him.
“It’s a meaningless title that people have given me against my will,” Shane said, still not facing Ilya but being keenly aware that the prince was closer to him than before.
He did not like being praised so highly without having earned it. Yes, he was a good fighter, and he had rarely lost a duel, but his skill had never been tested on the battlefield where it mattered most.“You are saying they are liars?” Ilya asked, more of that derisive tone coming through, with Shane growing all the more irritated the longer he spoke to the prince. If their difference in hierarchical standing hadn’t held him back, he probably would have given him his honest thoughts right then and there.
“A shame if true… Because I have heard you are quite good with your sword,” There was a grin in Ilya’s voice.
“And I was hoping to find out if there is truth to those rumors.” -
