Summary
Avery fell into the void; D3rlord made sure of it. He felt the presence of the King in Yellow consuming him completely, threatening to further fracture his already unstable mind. He thought he had won; he thought he had managed to save Avery… but he was wrong.
He underestimated the King, and now he will pay the consequences. The entity managed to infiltrate Avery at the precise moment D3rlord pushed him, thus sealing both their death sentences. The King possessed the boy; Avery is gone. He accomplished nothing; he saved no one.
Now, D3rlord must find a way to destroy the King in Yellow while struggling to keep his own mind from being consumed by the corruption.

A single, green hand grasped the edge of the platform. Its knuckles shining with a golden light. Derek's blood ran cold as the figure rose from beneath the platform, as if being lifted by an invisible force. Avery was alive?! He didn't know whether to feel glad or horrified though a distinct form of the latter washed over him as he noticed. This wasn't Avery.

Avery gets possessed by the King, (Derek's plan fails) But its kinda a summer Hikaru Died Situation because the King gains all of Avery's memories and feelings for Derek...
