Not many knew the story of his past, he kept it a closely guarded secret. The rumours and stories that were spread throughout the underground of his reputation were enough to ensure terror before he even swept through town leaving a river of blood in his wake. He was ruthless his bloodlust only growing as the years past.
It had been years since he worked alongside anyone, even longer since he allowed himself to trust someone. But that all changed with her.
They accused him of being her drug of choice. Dangerous... Addictive... Toxic... Slowly killing her... But they didn't understand. He was more than that, without him she couldn't breath, he was her air.
He would consume her. She would be his, his to possess, his to corrupt. She was too innocent for this world. He would enjoy breaking her.
And if he had to play "nice" with this crew to do it so be it.

‘Please! Don’t leave me!’ those were the words she had used to beg twice that very day.
The first as she felt her magical bonds break from the waters depths leaving her to die on the waters edge the last glimmer of the water having dulled leaving behind the image that any other moral would see if they set their gaze upon the lake.
The second as his eyes reminded her of the deepest oceans swirling with the brightest shades of blues and greens that she had ever seen. She could feel her broken bonds mending as they twisted and anchored her to this man.
It was in that moment that she knew that she was now bound to this man. Her heart... her magic... her very soul were now his.

After all, poor Lestat, vomiting his guts up and nodding off sitting down. Poor Lestat, who can’t seem to keep the blood in his system with how often he needs to use the restroom. Poor Lestat, who can’t stomach his usual victims and has to go looking for something to satisfy the urge. Poor Lestat, who has no idea what’s going on.
Poor Lestat. Poor sad, broken Lestat. How could they possibly stay angry at him, when he’s suffering and he has no idea why? That would just be cruel.
And this would make them angry, because they believe him to be a being with enough power to make himself suffer to earn their love. They think him pathetic enough.
He doesn’t even realise he’s crying until the blood drops land on the toe of his shoe.
He can keep it to himself for now. It’s just about him. It’s his business.
If things change or worsen, he’ll tell them.
