The light breeze blew his long, green curls around, framing his face delightfully and, oh, right. Gillion. Chip groaned, thumping his forehead against the railing of the crow’s nest. It was a beautiful, sunny day with warm weather and fluffy white clouds, but Chip still felt nauseous. He recalled the memory– rather, the dream– from the night prior, turning it over in his head like a marble in his hand.
It had felt off-puttingly real, not unlike his nightmares from just a few months ago in the matter of its eerie authenticity, but it wasn’t exactly unpleasant. Surprising, sure, but not particularly unwelcome. And that was what Chip was struggling with.

Summary
Bakugo has a habit of curling his fingers around Kirishima's wrist, pulling him this way and that, tugging to gain his attention, tapping his pulse point to show his impatience. Kirishima can do nothing but follow, anchored to this boy, this boy made of starlight and supernovas, constellations in his hair and ambitions in his head. Kirishima can only hope to be brought along with those dreams as he follows, much like a sailor to a lighthouse in the midst of a storm.
Sometimes loving him feels like coming up for air. Sometimes it feels like drowning.
Most of the time, though, it feels as natural as breathing.or,

"She's not- the spell isn't breaking, Chip!" Gillion finally looks back, the sea meeting the sky as a storm begin to brew again, those blue waves crashing against rocky surfaces as panic begins to spell out in the triton's gaze, before-
something seems to shift in his expression, that airheaded quality having disappeared from him for just a second, replaced only by Gillion's true attitude, his true heart as a warrior, and-- something else, almost. Something like a realization, some kind of epiphany.
Chip has neither the time nor the mind to try and analyze it further before there's a cold hand suddenly pressed to the side of his face again, and he leans into it, willing to look past his confusion in his melancholy state. If his face weren't red from his previous crying, though, he's sure it'd be dusted a light pink right now, because the moment was strangely intimate, stirring up long-repressed emotions and throwing them at the forefront of his mind.

"I... went through those, too," whispers said bastard, voice gentle and kind despite the way it can be rowdy and boisterous. "The nightmares. I know how bad they can be."

"You don't lie, Gil."
Something joins the heavy feeling sitting atop his chest, both in the sense of the aching laceration and the odd emotional weight he felt earlier, the one that feels like the same one he got after failing the Elders his final time.
He tilts his head to the sky again, and he sees brown eyes.
"Gil, I--"
"I'm sorry I lied."
