He’s met with only more silence. All three of his friends look at him like he’s said something particularly absurd.
“We’re not dating.” He insists.
Kaminari’s eyebrows furrow. He hesitates before he leans across the table. “Eijiro…” He says slowly, “...Are you sure?”

Bakugou knew his quirk was volatile, how could he not? He felt the way his hands would numb after extended usage periods. As much as he had been trying to ignore it, he knew his hearing had started to dull as a consequence of wanting to be number 1 and it terrified him after all, what's a good hero for if his own body cannot cater to his quirk. Unfortunately his fears were only amplified when, after a particularly annoying fight with a villain, his eyes seemed to betray him just like his ears.
However, he soon realised his ailment had a rather peculiar cure. That being none other than Kirishima.

He really does - they’re convenient, they’re safe and he’s in the room right next to his best friend’s. They have movie nights and game nights and there’s never a dull moment when he’s there, but- he misses his moms.
The Kirishimas are a very affectionate family. Kirishima’s no stranger to physical contact. He welcomes it, even; a hug when he leaves for school, a hug when he gets home from school. Before he goes to bed. It’s comforting, and it’s normal, and Kirishima… well, he misses it.
And that’s how Kirishima finds himself stood in front of Bakugo’s door at midnight on a Friday, worn down from the school week, desperate enough to go to his best friend’s room to ask him for a hug.

“I’m not,” Kirishima retorts, quickly brushing down his shirt, dusting it off and straightening out the creases. He's trying to hide it, but the strain he's under is obvious, his bones quaking from the overexertion. Bakugo doesn’t mean to be rude, but he looks awful- not unattractive awful, but looks like he’s about to faint kind of awful; endurance training can only get you so far if you’re ripping yourself apart and trying again before you’ve healed, and though he knows Kirishima knows this, he just isn’t stopping.
"Bakugo, I'm not going to break, just blast me."
Bakugo wonders, if Kirishima’s eyes weren’t hardened too, if he would be crying.
Maybe they should take a break from sparring for today.
