Her tall frame appears suddenly in the window frame, ducking as she does so. Her grin is bright, but her eyes are still slightly red and suddenly Otani feels a pang of guilt.
She pauses -"and you kinda resemble one too"
Otani's guilty feeling vanishes.Slight cannon divergence, set the night of the school trip ( so a continuation of episode 10) where Otani sneaks out the window of the hotel they're staying at in the middle of the night, in hopes of clearing his head. On his way back he needs Risa Koizumi's help getting back in.

Summary
Maka is forced back to Death City on her school's Spring Break. All she has to do is not be recognized so her father doesn't try and talk to her, avoid Blackstar who only wants to pick a fight, convince her school friends not to ask too many questions about meisters and weapons over text, and read her books.
Can't be that hard to keep a low profile in the city she grew up in and left.

A big element of this fic is that it dives into what life is like and the culture of the people (such as maka) of death city. One of the coolest things about Soul-Eater is its gothic world design and its uniquely Halloween inspired ( and super badass) characters, so it's so captivating to read something that delves more into that.
Plus their hangouts(such as extreme hide and goseek) in this fic are so fun to read!!
