Summary
Phainon and Mydei are in the same elite ballet academy. Every leap, twirl, role, has been a battle since day one. While not having the best first impression- their rivalry has grown to mutual respect (tough they’d never admit it.)
But everything changed when both were chosen to dance together as…lovers. Neither were thrilled- but they wouldn’t back down from a challenge. At first their chemistry was quite poor. Until one dreadful night, Phainon had a dream of Mydei, his rival, his co-star- riding him and moaning his name until tears fell from his eyes. Phainon had to get new boxers. And probably a therapist appointment.
To make things worse, the next practice with Mydei, he got...hard. An accident, he thought. A weird response from the sudden friction. But now…how come every time Mydei accidentally brushes against him or lifts his shirt to wipe his flushed face, it happens again?!
He knew he was screwed. Now he can’t even look at Mydei in the eyes without wanting to pin him down and tear those tights off.

Summary
Phainon may have started panicking. At the bare minimum, he felt blindsided— Mydei was purposefully being combative, despite Phainon having been nothing but amicable, and now he was making it sound like Phainon was the one in the wrong.
So he did the most logical thing he could think of in response, of course— acting before really thinking about it— and demonstrated his willingness to participate in what he'd perceived to be a provocation from the Crown Prince—
He undid the knot holding the tiny modesty towel in place—the pristine white fabric fell, and with it, so did Mydeimos's gaze.
“Oh,” Mydei answered eloquently, an odd expression crossing his face as he stared unabashedly, while Phainon, much more abashedly, allowed him to.
Be it through ignorance or wishful thinking, Phainon interprets Mydei's shamelessness as a direct provocation to settle the score between them, following the event of their ten-day, ten-night battle resulting in a draw.

It is true that foxians often have a better sense of smell, just as it is true that Jiaoqiu has one that is several times more sensitive than the average foxian. It allows him to detect scents that ordinary people wouldn’t be able to pick up on. Scents such as arousal.
Moze, clearly, did not know this.
