Cole tries not to let that offend him. “Got a copy of my birth certificate if that’ll help.”
Hanzo is shaking his head in disbelief. Cole begins to think this will be a lot more difficult than he anticipated.

Feeling bold, he holds a hand out in the human way. “Tuhka Turunen.”
Lazlo’s gaze lands on the proffered hand and then flickers up to Tuhka’s face, seeming to weigh his options. He breathes out a laugh and leans forward, ignoring the hand to press his forehead slowly but firmly against Tuhka’s in customary tiefling fashion. An echo of the greeting they shared when they first met as children.
“Lazarus Astrophel,” whispers the tiefling formerly known as Lazlo.
Tuhka smiles. “Nice to meet you, Lazarus.”

Hanzo kneels in his invisible prison, waiting to discover who or what could have the audacity to have trapped him.
Finally, a man approaches, or something shaped like one.
He is in black from his pointed hat to the toes of his leather boots. One eye glints, reflective like an animal’s in the night. Most of his left arm is knitted from magic and bone, glowing red like the blood moon above. “Well, aren’t you a surprise?” he asks, his voice deep and musical.

Daniel Parsons works out of Vegas. They’ve got a strong suspicion he’s laundering money for Talon. It puts him low on their threat list, but low also means accessible. Easy to snare. Slap him with enough evidence, and maybe they can get access to the next link in the chain.
That’s not the part of the scheme that’s hare-brained. No, that honor goes to using Parsons’ place of business as the site where two unlucky agents will have to distract him: the wedding chapel where he works as an Elvis impersonator.

He can feel Hanzo’s fingers curl reflexively, almost as if to stroke his face, but Hanzo’s eyes are still shuttered, distrustful.
It feels deserved, somehow. He’s lied for so long, and Hanzo is so suspicious by nature. It’s going to be a while before Cole has earned his trust again. This is only the start.
