Summary
Caleb was told of how when his father wanted to marry his mother, they were dirt poor. There had been a summer scorch that year, and what little the Empire didn’t take back from their fields, they had to keep for themselves, barely enough to survive the winter on. His father, though quite skilled at farming, was not able to bend the few leftover metal screws he had left into a ring fit for a bride. In a moment of love, he folded up a letter from the Crown, twisting and turning, folding and creasing until it turned into an elegant paper ring. Caleb’s mother wore it in her locket every day.

Summary
It's always a lot of fun when a new couple moves in. Jester loves to scare them off, use all the stereotypical ghost tricks in the book, and sometimes she can even rope Caleb into it. There isn't a lot to do when you're dead other than scare the living.
When a new, young couple moves in, Jester is excited. It's been seven months, and she's been bored. Trouble is, the couple doesn't seem to notice, or maybe they just don't care, that ghosts live in their house. -

The boy that sits across from Jester on the bus is really cute. If only it wasn't so early, she would start a conversation.

Summary
Lady Jester Lavorre must secure herself a politically favourable marriage contract and have a wedding before her twenty-fifth birthday, or else the Nicodranian House of Lords will claim her inheritance under grounds of being an illegitimate heir.
Graf Bren Aldric Ermendrud, having recently reclaimed his title as the Count of Blumenthal, has been pressured by his Council into throwing his hat in the ring, as the dowry alone would do much to help restore his ancestral land to its former glory.
Too bad Jester is more inclined to spend all her time with the dirty travelling scholar who has a cute cat.

Summary
It was a strange place. The one and only home for miles which rented on a monthly bases, no need for a year-long commitment, and refraining from asking too many questions. It was fully furnished, the kitchen appliances were all supposed to work, there was heating ready if he stayed all the way through autumn and into winter. It was perfect. And it wasn’t even expensive. It had made him suspicious. Very much so.
“I have to ask, places like this are hard to find. Is there a catch?”
Nearing the end of his short life, Caleb Widogast finds the perfect place to finish up his affairs: a strange, colorful house, at the top of lonely hill. Problem is, he thought he would be alone in it.
