And his breathing is fast and there’s tears running down his cheeks and he speaks into the phone “It’s getting bad again Mads. I said I’d tell you if it did. And I think now, it’s getting bad again.”
But he hears the familiar voice of the answering machine “this mailbox is full and not accepting new messages”, so he wipes his face and puts down the phone.
(Or Buck struggles during season 5 when everyone seems to leave, mind plagued with images of Eddie getting shot, and it all just spirals and spirals and spirals. But at least there are people there to catch him when he falls.)
