Summary

As they make their way to the next campsite, they discover a castle looming in a dark forest. Drawn to it, the group make their way to the little village sitting at the foot of the castle.

Elena Zielinski had only wanted adventure, to sink herself into the culture and find the truth in the stories that decorated every child's adolescence. She should have read the warnings in the tales she held so dear, they may had provided her enough knowledge to escape the terrible twists of fate that waited for her in the mountains of Romania. These stories teach us the things our parents so often neglect to warn us about. Maybe if she had only listened, maybe things of would have been different.
Maybe not.
After all, the big bad wolves were the least of her problems.
Or.
I'm obsessed with the fairy tale, gothic motifs of Resident Evil 8 and I simp for Heisenberg.
EDIT: I plan to finish this at some point but it is on extended hiatus for now as I finish my two other fics.

When she turns, her stomach absolutely drops to the floor. Liz is certain she doesn't hide her shock well, but then neither does Mr. Ricci, who looks as startled as she feels.
His eyes are panicked as she sticks out her hand, and it takes him several seconds to extend his own. It's hard to tell if her palm is just ridiculously sweaty or if both of them are contributing to the collective clamminess of the handshake.
"E-Elizabeth Colvin," she says stupidly, as if he might have forgotten the woman he'd seen necking with his boss just days ago.
