Blue eyes, still drooping with the remnants of sleep. White hair tousled with some truly awful bedhead. Skin as pale and flawless as porcelain – no scar over their left eye, as he had come to associate with these features over the last few months. A young face – hints of baby fat still clung to their cheeks even with the telltale signs of sudden growth spurts - brought a pang of quiet dismay to him; he hated it when they were young, and this one was so very, very young.
Even though he had never met the boy looking into the mirror, even though he had not yet begun to bleed into the boy’s memories, he knew the boy’s name. It was impossible to mistake that icy combination of white hair and blue eyes, after all, and there was currently only one male child in the Schnee family.
Whitley Schnee was the new host of Ozma.

Summary
Zuko realizes his destiny much earlier. As in, as soon as he wakes up in the palace after his Agni Kai and is told he is banished. Unfortunately, he's never been a patient one. So he storms right up to Ozai and tells him what he's going to do. And gets locked up for over three years. Then, one day, he's being pulled out and told he's the new Fire Lord.
A "Zuko never meets the Gaang and suddenly becomes Fire Lord after three years of literal torture" AU. In which the Gaang doesn't know what to think of the new Fire Lord who happens to be the missing nephew of Aang's firebending teacher, Iroh constantly has a headache, and, sure, maybe the world hates the Fire Nation, but the Fire Nation LOVES Zuko, and he can work with that.

Summary
The Fire Nation notices that the royal siblings work like a well-oiled machine. They are trusting of each other in a way nobles rarely are. When Firelord Zuko is crowned, he has a determined glint in his eye and compassion in his smile which isn't common for Firelords. Princess Azula lurks in shadows, smiling menacingly at anyone who has the audacity to not clap at her brother's coronation. Some wonder if they'd been born that way. The royal siblings beg to differ.
