When Percy de Rolo moves to Emon to start a new job away from home, he yearns for a community in a bright new city when he meets Vox Machina, a rowdy group of friends during a neighborhood meet-up. Among the group is a martial arts instructor, Vex’ahlia, and it doesn't take long to realize that she's going to change his life.
Between her enjoyable job, amazing friends, and occasional flings, Vex is content with her life. When a bookish and grumpy man falls into her life, she finds herself at odds on what she considers herself content with.
And when a night of champagne turns into something headier, they find it hard to stop.

When Vex first approaches him with the idea, he's more startled than anything. Their relationship is fresh enough that he's only recently gotten to a point where he's actually comfortable with it, felt like he's reached some kind of equilibrium, and so he's (understandably, he feels) surprised when Vex crawls atop him one morning, nuzzling into his chest and pressing kisses into his skin and then saying brightly, "Let's have a threesome with Jarett."
Percy squints down at her.
Or, the one where Vex is enthusiastic, Percy is unsure, and ...well, basically there's a threesome. With Jarett.
