An elven woman arrives at Whitestone Castle, announcing that she has been made aware of the passing of Lord Frederick, and now requests an audience with his successor, the ruling Lord: Julius de Rolo... when she is informed that Julius perished with his father, she seems perturbed, but then, strangely, announces that she is aware that Percival, the second son, still lives. Therefore, as heir, she requests and audience with him, as ruling Lord of Whitestone. And then, she presents a signet ring, bearing the de Rolo Crest... Capt. Jarrett tells her he will pass on her request, and immediately takes the ring to Lady Cassandra de Rolo, as she is the Head of the Chamber of Whitestone. They both find the whole circumstance to be suspicious, and upon taking it up with her brother, Percival agrees. They agree to meet with this woman, together. They arrange to have backup brought in, but posted nearby, quietly.
They meet with this elven woman alone.
... this proves to be a terrible, terrible mistake...
She is much more than she appears to be, and Julius did something, years ago, that she now expects Percival and Cassandra, to pay for...

Summary
Vex and Percy share a couple classes together and, even though they're hardly close enough to be considered "friends", they've always gotten along just fine. This all changes when, in order to avoid an awkward conversation with an ex, Vex makes the (totally justified) choice to kiss Percy at a party. What was supposed to be a slightly embarassing anecdote soon becomes a fake relationship after their friends hear about the kiss and assume the couple to be dating.
Will the two be able to keep up the ruse and survive without breaking each other's hearts? Or will they end up finding out that this is more than what they bargained for? -

Summary
Whitestone is preparing for the arrival of several foreign dignitaries, who are coming to negotiate for the trading of residuum. Percival de Rolo is very concerned about the security of this meeting and is pushing himself to finish the next round of muskets, so that the next group of Rifle Corps can be armed and ready to be added to the security detail. But in true Percival de Rolo fashion, he allows his work to consume him, and time loses all meaning. For days, he does not eat. He does not sleep. He is irritated at every interruption by those trying to get him to take a break.
Vax'ildan returns to Whitestone from his work for the Matron of Ravens at the same time the representatives from Syngorn arrive: Ambassador Vessar has come early with his family, as Velora has wanted to see her older brother and sister for a day or two before business takes over. As they enter the castle, Gilmore goes to the Lord of the castle... just in time to witness his collapse.
Upstairs, the people of the castle and the newly arrived guests can feel and hear the explosion in Percival's workshop...
