“Remus.”
His voice is hoarse, an octave lower than Sirius’s. His name, spoken as an obvious fact. The Welsh accent suits him, matching his countryside look, far from the poise of great families."

Mainly a fic told from the point of view of all the Marauders‑era characters (They’ll end up being sixteen POVs, but I promise I introduced them little by little so you can slowly get attached to each of them and follow a more or less coherent plot.). I read All the Young Dudes years ago and wasn’t fully convinced by the characterisation, so this is my take on it.
The timeline goes from their first year all the way to Mary’s death
I am obviously AGAINST J.K. Rowling in every way. This is a reminder not to buy “official” merchandise because she is literally against all the rights that our fandom stands for.

Summary
They were fifteen, and it was the summer when Sirius began to grow his hair out in an act of protest, when James Potter was head over heels in love with Lily Evans, when Peter Pettigrew stood up to his big brother for the first time, and when Remus Lupin sacrificed all his precious free time to work at the Lovegoods' farm.
It was the year with the first signs of the events to come, the first big arguments, the first awkward declarations of love, the first recognitions that something was changing in their immature minds. At least that's how it was for Sirius. But back then he couldn't yet name these unconscious perceptions.
Or didn't want to.

"I felt disappointed because, after years of trying to convince myself that I wasn't like other werewolves, that I was still good, that I wasn't a monster... I was proven wrong."
OR: After The Prank that Sirius plays on Snape, Remus decides to leave Hogwarts. He spirals into self-hatred, doing anything to forget about his former friends and "monstrous" self. Eventually, though, his friends find him. Things only get worse after that.
