Ch.1:
Class 1A is working on a rescue mission in parts of the city after a big incident, helping out agencies who are already on the field and builders who are hard a work rebuilding the city. This was supposed to be an easy support mission, but things take a turn they didn't anticipated.This is the 1st part of a story in which Bakugou will have to learn to put his pride on the side enough to accept how Todoroki has taken a space in his heart. And in which Todoroki will have to learn to show and accept more of his own emotions, that he does not have to walk alone on this path before him.

"You can't stop me working on this," Izuku says firmly. "I have another pen in my pocket."
Laughter escapes Rody, light and whimsy as it scatters across the room. Footsteps pivot around. Ah. He's being theatrical. Drawing this out for fun.
"Oh, you mean… this pen?"
Shouto can almost see it now: Rody, dangling the pen tauntingly between them, eyes bright and a coy grin curling up the corners of his mouth. And Izuku, lips pursed stubbornly and stifling a smile he refuses to share.
Their dynamic is quite fascinating. There's trust there, tenderness too. Yet they sit forever in this chasm, caught in an agonising stalemate.
"Give it back!"
One night, before their next heist, Shouto pretends to be asleep. He soon discovers he's got it all wrong.

A brittle broken laugh punches out, then. Shattering in the space around them.
“Guess I always got something to fucking prove.”
Heart clenching, Shouto reaches across their unspoken threshold. Fingers graze over the rattling pulsepoint of Katsuki's wrist.
“Not to me,” he whispers, simply and a little sternly. “Or anyone I can think of. I suspect this is something you’ve internalised within yourself.”
Over poorly chopped chives, they fold together.

“Stop peeking!” Shouto chastises and Katsuki rolls his eyes at him, “We said we’re keeping it a surprise until we’re finished. And I’m not finished yet.”
“Yeah, yeah, hurry up I wanna see so that I can prove that I’m better than you at this.”
"I thought we’re carving these for fun?” Shouto comments, picking up his little carving tool again to get back to work.
“We are. You need a little competition to make this shit fun.”
Katsuki and Shouto carve pumpkins together.

He looks up at Todoroki through his eyelashes, and he can’t say anything of substance yet. Still catching his breath. So he whispers the word beautiful on an exhale, and lets himself really look at those eyes, and that scar, not at all cautious in what his expression gives away as he takes in everything Todoroki is.
“You’re delirious,” Todoroki notes, concerned, and Katsuki’s heart sinks thinking that’s the only way Todoroki can rationalize something like that being said to him.
or: Space travel can be a long, lonely voyage, but it's about the company you keep.

It’d be a lot easier to hate Bakugou if he wasn’t so easy on the eyes. Shouto can smell his cologne on him, hints of citrus and spice, maybe a whiff of cardamom. He kind of wants to stick his nose between the crook of Bakugou’s neck and inhale the scent, nuzzle against him like a cat.
Nope, Shouto. That’s inappropriate.
He holds out a hand and nods, “Bakugou, good to see you again.”
Bakugou smirks and shakes his hand, grip tight, “Likewise, Mr. Youngest Self-Made CEO.”

Shouto has more things to worry about as CEO than a pretty blond who keeps calling him 'princess.' But somehow, he can't seem to get Bakugou off his mind.
