    Summary

Peter Parker was a strange creature and not remotely close to the kind of person Dick would ever think to see Jason settle down with.

OR: Dick reflects on the young man that his brother has forged a relationship with.

This mirrors Chapter 14 of 'Existential Crisis Mode' and won't make sense without having read up to this point.

    Summary

Peter Parker has faced a lot of things in his life, supervillains, secret identities even the occasional multiversal crisis, but meeting his boyfriend’s family? That might just take the top spot.

Jason Todd bringing him to a family dinner at Wayne Manor is a big step, a quiet acknowledgment that he’s ready to rebuild burnt bridges. Peter is determined to make a good impression, but things don’t exactly go as planned.

Between cold stares, unspoken tensions, and a few too many questions for comfort, Peter finds himself caught in the middle of something far more complicated than just dinner. But if there’s one thing he and Jason have learned, it’s that they don’t back down—not from each other, and certainly not from anyone else.

After all, families are messy. And the Wayne family? Well… that’s a whole different level of chaos.

    Summary

"Got something to say there, Spider-Man?" Jason spat out, viciously. He didn't know why. Why was he taunting him? Maybe he knew that this would happen. Maybe all this time Jason was preparing himself for this exact moment. When the mask fell and his own ugly, disgusting self reared its nasty head. When Peter finally realized who, or rather what, he truly was.
All of their heads turned to Spider-Man at the mention of him.

Peter's masked eyes finally reached Jason. Then they were back at inspecting the bodies around them. Then they were back at him.

Time seemed as if it wasn't moving. He kept waiting for Peter to open his mouth, to tell him he was a terrible, irredeemable human being. That he slaughtered all of these people and that he never wanted to see him again.

"Say it, bugs," Jason insisted. "Share your opinion with the rest of us. What do you think of my little work of art, hm?" He gestured with his hands around them.

or: this is the first time Peter witnesses Jason's murder-y side. Things don't go very well.

    Summary

Peter risked a glance over his shoulder and immediately regretted it. The protrusions in his upper back were covered in blood, fur sticking together, and the ends of the growth were pointy, but had significantly dulled since their first appearance. They kind of reminded him of a softer, not fully grown, version of his Iron-Spider legs. And they were poking out of his back like he got stabbed 4 times.

    Summary

“Hey,” the kid says, offering a gloved hand. “I’m Spider-Man.”

Jason stares at the hand. “Get. Out of. My face.”

“Cool, me too,” the kid says as if that made any fucking sense. “But also, there’s, like, a very large man with a weird Red Riding Hood thing going on pointing a gun at my face, so I’m calling this a teachable moment.”

“I don’t point guns at faces,” Jason says. He absolutely does. “I point them at kneecaps.”

The kid’s hand hovers in the air a second longer, then drops. He bounces on the balls of his feet, kinetic energy with a conscience. “So what’s your deal? Big red bucket, voice modulator set to ‘haunt my enemies,’ a fashionable assortment of weapons. Batman adjacent?”

“Batman distant,” Jason says. “And the deal is: you’re in my territory.”

“Oh. Sorry! I didn’t know territories were, like, a thing. Do you have a flag? I can make a flag. I’m very DIY when it comes to silk-based products.”

Jason racks the pistol and holsters it because if he doesn’t, he’s going to do something unhelpful, like shoot this idiot charmingly dead.
