Summary
Dick and Bruce have been fighting the entire time Jason's known them. It's disappointing and annoying but it's not like he's not used to it. It isn't until Tim comes to live with them that it becomes a problem, though. This is no environment for a little kid to grow up in.

Tim was in trouble. Big, big trouble. Not the I'm-going-to-be-sent-to-Arkham-and-they-throw-away-the-key kind (which, let's face it, was always a possibility for any Gotham citizen), but more of the oh-oh-my-parents-are-going-to-kill-me kind.
And his highly intelligent ten-year-old mind had come up with the only possible solution to his problem.
"Pretend you're my uncle," Tim said, after Nightwing entered the alley, surprising him and nearly getting hit with an escrima stick (oh shit, it looked so good!), "Or I'll tell everyone who you and Batman are."
(What do you do when your parents are in Egypt and you don't want them to know you've gotten into trouble at school? Simple: try blackmailing one of the local vigilante and hope for the best. It's a foolproof plan!)

Soon, almost all of the assassins are subdued, except for one. A tiny shadow of lethal grace. Steel blue eyes stared up at him from underneath a dark hood.
Bruce paused.
That. Is. A. Whole. Child.
He couldn’t be older than 10, eyes sharp and cold, moving with the grace of a seasoned assassin. The child assassin moved into a defensive stance, his weight perfectly distributed, bo staff snapping out. He was calm, there was no tension, no panic at facing off three men way older and heavier than him.
Protect. His instincts scream. protectprotectPROTECT.

It's been proven to Tim several times that 'dead' doesn't exactly mean gone. For once it's not Ra's being a weirdo stalker, but someone else from his past... Meanwhile the rest of Tim's family would very much like their over-caffeinated, sleep deprived brother to stop wandering off to the other side of the planet, thanks.
