From what the boys have mentioned and what he saw in that hospital room and what Shou whispered to him in stolen moments… it’s going to be hard to sit through. But he’ll do it for their kids.
“Can you tell me about your relationship with your previous foster parents, Miyata Yuriko and Miyata Takao, in as much detail as possible?”

“Thought I was dreaming last night,” Hitoshi says, peacefully unaware of the way he's cracking open Shouta’s cold heart and stomping on the pieces. His voice sounds better, only a little hoarse. Whether Hitoshi is so willing to talk because he feels genuinely safe or because he's too tired to be scared… well. Time will tell. “But you’re still here.”
Shouta opens his mouth to say… something, but the lump in his throat grows larger. He was so close to never meeting this kid. So, terrifyingly close. Zashi takes over for him. “Of course we are, listener. We’re always going to be here for you now.”
And that's his husband. Dropping forever not even twelve hours after first laying eyes on the kid. Kami, does Shouta love him.

“About that… does the hospital have a copy machine?” Hitoshi chooses that moment to peak over Shouta’s shoulder, undoubtedly giving Tsukauchi a full view of his bloodied face. Unintentionally, he also gives Shouta the perfect opportunity to watch shock, understanding, and sheer resignation flash through the detective’s eyes.
“You’re not telling me that you found another child on the way to the hospital with the first one,” Tsukauchi says.
“I did not find another child on the way to the hospital with the first one,” Shouta lies.

A pure wildness and an untouchable distance that tells the world that Andrew has witnessed worse than this and that he will not be broken.
At the moment, Neil envies him. While he’s witnessed worse, he still feels perilously close to breaking.

He's about equally kicking ass and getting his ass kicked, but that's mostly because one of the assholes hit Clint's ear just right to fuck with his hearing aids and possibly give him a concussion, which is making the ground sway just a little and the douchebags seem much more nimble than usual. Clint is putting the bastards down hard anyway, when another dude steps into the fight and starts helping him out.
