Pete uses his wish to save Ray's life, but it comes at a cost; they are never allowed to see each other again. Pete accepts easily, as long as Ray lived he would be happy. But then he got Ray's address and well, writing wasn't seeing.. surely writing letters would be alright. He could probably write him forever and be content. Even if he never got to see him again... never got to hear him again... never got to touch him again... surely he would be able to resist the urge to just... go to his house... right...?

Robby needs therapy, and Jack is not about to watch him deny it again. He needs to talk to someone, even if it's just Dr Jefferson. Surprisingly, Robby agrees. His sessions, however, are really difficult and draining, and the only person who can help him through that is Jack Abbot.
Jack eagerly does whatever Robby needs. Including taking a nap together. Or several. If only their feelings could stay out of it... -

After their 4th of July shift, Robby takes Jack to a quiet room. In there, they can’t hear a single firework. Abbot can finally find some peace. Well, it’s still in his head and triggering him, but Robby is desperately trying to help. He even brought board games.

Abbot invites Robby over on Christmas so neither has to be alone. They get drunk, and they end up flirting so much that kissing is inevitable. They will have to face their actions during the rest of the week of handovers. Robby, however, hit his head on the way home and doesn't remember. Abbot doesn't know that and avoids it all until New Year's Eve.

Summary
Abbot volunteers to be Santa for the sick kids at the hospital. Robby is with him, only because Jack begged (and because he was a little bit jealous of those poor kids seeing (t)his man in a Santa outfit). He spent the entire time watching him fondly. His heart was growing by the minute, and it was bound to burst.
Except, there were mothers. Single mothers. Who were all too invatuated by the handsome Santa Claus. Robby was being dramatic; he knew he was, but nonetheless, he was jealous.
