Summary
Years before joining the 118, Buck’s travels take him to El Paso, where he meets Christopher. When Eddie comes back from Afghanistan and Shannon leaves, Buck ends up staying. As bills pile up, the best move is for them to get married, just for convenience, they’ll divorce when Eddie comes back from his re-enlistment.
Then Eddie gets injured and it’s just easier to stay married for a little longer, while Buck gets started at the 118. However, Buck doesn’t mention his ‘husband’ and kid, not feeling like they’re his to keep. When Eddie gets the offer from Bobby, they decide to lie and pretend they don’t know each other, so they can work together.
The whole lie gets out of hand as feelings start to become real, until it all comes to a head in the aftermath of the fire engine explosion.
AKA: Secret marriage of convenience buddie slow burn AU, where Buck and Eddie have been married for years so Buck could adopt Chris and no one at the 118 knows.

Instead, the lighting was warmer, Eddie was standing by the fridge, the air smelled of food, there was music playing, and Eddie was standing by the fridge.
'Hey, Eddie. Didn’t see you back there.'
Eddie waves his hand slightly, 'Hey, Maddie.'
Maddie whips back around to face Buck, questioning eyes and only somewhat fake smile on her face, and repeats, 'So I am interrupting something.'"

EDIT: Felt like this has been missing something for a while now, so I added a lil sexual awakening for Moiraine in chapter 2. Nothing super spicy, just her struggling with the fact that she enjoys alone time. It's towards the beginning.

Five months after the world ended but everything kept going, Moiraine, Lan, and Siuan find themselves in Cairhien. Duties done for the day, Siuan sneaks out of the Sun Palace, where she's being hosted, to visit Lan and Moiraine in a small inn nearby, only to discover that Moiraine has slipped out and left Lan on his own again. Events at the Eye of the World, and the impact they've had, particularly on Moiraine, are finally confronted by all three. Inspired by the Season 2 trailers/cast interviews and teasers.
'“Talk to me,” she said quietly, reaching across the table and laying a hand on his arm, giving it a small squeeze.
It was their way. When they had no one else who could understand, no one else whom they could even speak to, they had each other. Over time they had come to love one another as friends, as family, truly, the small dysfunctional one they’d somehow formed. But they’d never forgotten their roots, or the common thread that had drawn their Patterns together: Moiraine. Together they had pledged, with no oaths needing to be sworn, and no promises needing to be made, that they would protect her, and care for her, as best they could. That meant caring for each other, too.'
