He feels so alive, he feels reborn. As the elevator moves, he leans against the wall and laughs, starting off quietly before breaking out into near hysterics, using one of his hands to push back the hair that falls in front of his face. He’s won. Finally, finally, he’s out of that awful place, after who knows how much time has passed. He’s so glad that who he was before all this is so naive despite all of the dying, of all the tricks and the traps and the dangers here. The sheer sensation of something new, of movement beneath his feet, things on the wall to run his hand over, there’s so much for him to take in right now. His other hand opens and closes the scissors a little faster than usual.

The doppelgängers successfully trick their apparent originals, and so they continue to go through all of the floors in an attempt to finally free themselves. Naturally, this means they have to make a stop on Floor 4, and the doppelgänger of the protagonist is equally as unhappy as this as his original would be.

“I, I—” He flinches as his coworker raises his hand, holding his arms in front of his face as a meager shield. He’s shaking, letting out heavy, frantic breaths, sharp and rapid inhales and exhales, like he’s starved for air.
His coworker doesn’t strike him like he thought he would. At least, he’s not doing it now. Instead, he grabs him by the shirt collar and drags him up to his feet. He feels unsteady on these legs of his, like a lamb still learning how to walk.
“Come on,” he snarls out, “you want the power here? Then go ahead. Win it from your superior.”

After he gets tricked into giving away the scissors, the doppelgänger of the protagonist is met with challenge by his version of his coworker. They fight. It ends just about as well as you would expect.

One of the floors the elevator lets the protagonist out onto is really intent on forcing him to experience what it would be like to be married to his coworker. He goes along with it just so he can solve whatever puzzle is here and get out, because if he has to hear his coworker call him 'love' again, he's going to lose his mind. In a bad way. Probably.

It’s such a strange and abrupt thing to say—you curse yourself silently, because of all the things to say, that, really? You could’ve talked about creaking floors and not being able to sleep and you would’ve been honest but at least it wouldn’t lead to too many invasive questions—an assumption of a cheap apartment in a bad place and your coworker probably wouldn’t need to inquire further.
Thankfully, your coworker is fucking stupid and dismisses you immediately.

The protagonist enters Floor 4 with extreme trepidation. He runs out of time, and as the door creaks open, he decides he doesn’t want to die to monsters again, so he doesn’t. Who know it was that easy! Just tell the horrors beyond mortal comprehension no, they legally can’t kill you then! (It was not that easy.)

Safe, caution, danger. Engage, observe, avoid. It's systematic, and the lists are ever changing and expanding.
Recently, he has firmly placed Uno onto the danger list. Possibly at the very top of it.
Paradoxically, touching Uno has not only made the safe list, but most certainly has skyrocketed to the top of it.
He feels the absolute safest when he is touching Uno. If they keep stating it like an objective fact, maybe it'll start to make sense.
