Those are the memories he hates the most. After all, he should have known that fairytale romance never lasts forever.

He reached out and pushed his hand in between the elevator doors, keeping them open until the figure entered. The second he did, he quickly retracted his hand and studied it for any grime. Eugh, gross, who knows what these doors have seen.

The protagonist's coworker was a newbie too, at one point. And so, bright-eyed and ready to take on any challenge he comes across with ease, he gets on the elevator to get to his interview in a timely manner. Things do not go as planned.
