Summary
The virus spreads through the saliva of an infected person coming in contact with an open wound of another who is not infected. That is something Simon is certain of. What he’s not sure of is if a dog could infect Johnny. A person bitten by an infected individual turns within twenty-four hours. It’s been two days. Although Johnny’s still kicking, Simon’s not liking their odds.
“It’s infected.” Is all Simon chooses to say.
“Could’ve fooled me.” Johnny wheezes, he’s smiling. But the pinch of his brow gives away how much he actually hurts. Even covered in dried blood, sweaty and dirty Simon finds this man beautiful. He runs his hands fondly through Johnny’s overgrown mohawk. Johnny pushes his head into his hand.
“Stop talking. Save your energy. Please.” He begs moving swiftly to grab their nearly empty bottle of alcohol.
He wasn’t going to lose him again. Not like this.

“Absolutely not.”
“Ghost- You don’t really have a choice. The higher ups are set on their decision. They don’t trust you. You don’t make it easy for them.” Price says flatly, smoke curling lazily around his face from the cigar pinched between his fingers.
The two men stand in the captain’s office. Price casually leaning back on his deck, while Ghost stands rather defensive by the door.
“I don’t need a fucking babysitter. Especially not one of them.” Ghost growls.
“Then think of it as your partner- a subordinate, hell maybe even as a little brother, son. But you don’t have a choice. This decision is final.” Irritation was beginning to slip into Price’s words. “I’m not gonna say I’m fond of this either- a machine in the military, gives you some food for thought…” Price takes another drag from his cigar, nearing its end. “But it’s out of my control.”
Ghost’s eye twitches at Price’s words, his jaw set. A fucking android. You have got to be kidding.
“I want to see you bright eyed and bushy tailed on deck at 0500 tomorrow. It’s supposed to be dropped in by a helo… Am I clear, Lieutenant?”
“Yes, sir.”

"Your... eyes," he grunted out. Jaskier stopped in his tracks. Geralt heard his heart skip a beat. But he didn't turn around. "as we said our goodbyes."
He thoughts filtered back to the mountain. Sometimes he had nightmares. Sometimes he sat alone without a fire because he felt he deserved to be hungry. The way Jaskier had looked at him.
"Why is it that whenever I find myself in a pile of shit it's you who's shoveling it."
Those blue eyes darkened with sorrow. The smell of sadness crashing off in waves. But the second those words rolled out of his mouth like a horse drawn carriage he couldn't stop himself. He's never seen anyone look at him like that though. He's seen fear, anger, confusion. But never has someone looked at him with such a dragged look of betrayal.

Summary
Ghost takes Soap off the grid after a mission goes sideways and deep into the Russian winter, where the cold bites harder than any enemy ever could.
He teaches him how to survive. How to hunt, ration, hide. But Soap gets sick and the cold doesn't forgive weakness.
As isolation drags on and supplies vanish in the snow, Ghost is forced to make a call: Reach out and risk losing his entire world forever as it's taken from him, or don't reach out and risk Soap dying right there in his arms.
