Merlin journeys to Avalon to plead for Arthur’s return. The Sidhe agree to let them go, but there is one condition. Merlin must lead the way, and he can’t turn around to make sure Arthur is following. Not unless he wants Arthur to be sent back to Avalon forever.
Based loosely on the musical Hadestown, and the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice.

Summary
He turns his gaze back to Merlin, face tight as if braced for battle. “What did she do to you?” He asks.
Of course he does.
And Merlin tells him. He doesn’t want to, but he doesn’t try to resist either. He submits to the power within him, urging him to go ahead, ruin all that he holds dear with a simple truth.
“She gave me a truth potion.”
Or: Merlin is under a truth spell, but Arthur lets him keep his secrets.
