Summary
The Second Coming has been adverted thanks to Aziraphale and Crowley. At the end of the chaos, Heaven is looking for a new voice of God, and all eyes are on Aziraphale. Unable to decide, he retires to the bookshop to think, well-drink, over his choices until he is interrupted by a particular demon, and maybe, just maybe, Aziraphale dares to tell him how he feels.

Swallowing and shaking her head, she turned and drifted back into her apartment, damp and stinging eyes wandering until they caught on the Grimmerie. She still couldn’t read it, exactly, but it responded to her. Eager, almost, like it wanted them to work together. Sometimes she turned the pages and sometimes the pages turned by themselves, stirred by some ethereal breeze. Sometimes she stared at the delicate lines of script for long minutes without having any idea what they meant, and sometimes her lips shaped the edges of sounds and the words on the page would glow excitedly. Sometimes her touch would do nothing… and sometimes…
She reached out her fingertips, grazing the edge of the book, and sucked in a breath as it trembled and the pages rustled.

"I know," Castiel murmurs, still just smiling a little, not looking heartbroken at all. "Don't worry about it, Dean, that's all I ask."
"So we're—" Dean risks a glance up, swallowing thickly. "We're good?"

Penelope’s heart stilled as she recognized the letter, her own handwriting glaring up at her. She gasped, the weight of the situation crashing down around her. It was the first draft she had written to Lady Bridgerton—the one she had discarded, choosing instead to send a more neutral version. But this letter was the one where she had dared to mention the unthinkable: her willingness to accept an annulment if Colin wished it.
Colin’s eyes bore into hers, the anger simmering beneath his calm façade barely contained. Before she could utter a word, he spoke again, his voice laced with disbelief. “Annulment? Are you being serious?”
