“You’re really pale.” The wooden seat creaks quietly as Kirara sits down next to him. She places her hand on Yuta’s back. “And sweaty.”
The corners of his eyes prickle with intolerable sharpness. Pressure in his sinuses intensifies alongside the aching lump in his throat.
“What’s wrong with him?” Hakari asks gruffly, further than Kirara but close enough to be just as humiliating. He’d really rather not crumble in front of his seniors.

Summary
Following a quarrel between Division 4 and two treacherous devils, Aki Hayakawa wakes in Public Safety’s medical ward with injuries that won’t heal cleanly, not the physical ones nor the strange, lingering psychological distortions left behind by the devil they had previously been sent on eliminating. In short, Aki was fucked up bad. Makima decides Denji and Power are far too stupid to care for someone, so she assigns the last person Aki expects.
The Angel Devil.
Forced into the role of caretaker, Angel is dragged into a whole month of supervising a man he insists he doesn’t care about, keeping him grounded through devil-induced episodes, and day-by-day watching the ice around Aki’s rigid exterior crack in ways no one else ever sees.
Aki Hayakawa hates being a liability. The Angel Devil hates being responsible for anything. Collectively speaking, they hate the growing tension between them.
