Her eyes narrowed at the sight; tongue flashed out of her mouth in jest. “Eww.”
Red eyes watched her move towards the kitchen, the blood of the poultry dripping on the floor. Good. She had accepted his token. The two homosapiens required nourishment if he was to take them back home with him. It was only fair – they sheltered him from his pupa state. He will spare them. It was how things… worked.----------

Summary
How far would one go to save {family}? Loved ones? Those whom slipped through one's fingers in a hazy, catastrophic mess of fire and bullets? How long can one fight against the odds – against fate – against programming?
To Maria, the answer was simple: far enough. She will CLAIM this second chance, protect Shadow from vile monsters, defend Grandpa from terrible things, save the ARK, and make it happily to the Earth!
To Gerald, the answer was complex: anything for his little ones. However, the line to play between what he had to do to protect from the machinations of G.U.N. was opposite of what his precious granddaughter would want.
To Shadow, there was no question: he was already doing what he had vowed to do. He's back to where it all begun, filled with knowledge on how things went wrong; how to make things right. He'll save everyone, even those that perished in his future.
