Sirius doesn’t want anything to do with his family but things drilled into you as a child aren’t so easy to forget. He’s trying his best though. It always seems to be easier when Remus is with him.
Remus questions his sanity for thinking, even for a second, that a PhD was a good idea. Perhaps it would be worth it if he could at least go home to Sirius.
Peter's back doesn’t want to cooperate. He has to give up some nights with the guys but at least while they’re out, he can catch up on the videos Youtube keeps recommending. They really do seem like they can help with his confidence.

Shepard was an idealist at his core and Jack needed him grounded. She needed him present in the harsh reality of things. She needed him to see the universe as cruel and unforgiving as it was because maybe then he wouldn’t be so determined to die for it.
If he was less idealistic, maybe he wouldn’t see her as a project. Maybe he wouldn’t seem so god damned eager for the rough way she fucked if he knew that there was nothing better waiting for him in the future.
Anything he could possibly want from her was nothing that she was ever going to give.
