Summary
Miranda and the Illusive Man insisted time and time again that this body was all but identical to the one that had been spaced over Alchera. After spending billions of credits to resurrect her, it would be logical to think they were correct, right? They’d taken two years to bring her back and claimed to have spent thousands of hours rebuilding her. In fact, the Illusive Man and Miranda basically took every opportunity to mention that they’d been painstakingly precise to bring the exact Commander Shepard that died in Alchera’s atmosphere.
They’re lying. They’re lying. They’re lying. The thought was a ceaseless incantation in the back of her mind, raising the fine hairs on the back of her neck.

Summary

Summary
The Covenant War, Citadel Galactic Museum of War
In 2169, the Citadel Council turned its attention to the galaxy’s Frontiers—and found a world on fire. Harvest, a small human colony, was gone. Its cities were ash. Its people were dead. The attackers called themselves the Covenant. Their message was simple: humanity was a sin to be purged. At first, the Council regarded the war as distant, a frontier dispute of little consequence. Yet reports of new species, shattered colonies, and desperate resistance could not be ignored. The Frontiers were not just human. They were home to Maians, Nulls and others—diverse peoples who now fought and died together.
It is said the Council acted. Turian warships deployed. Asari commandos landed. Salarian operatives struck Covenant supply lines. Even the Elcor and Volus are remembered as standing beside Earth’s defenders.
The war did not end there. But something greater began—a united stand across species, governments, and ideals. From fire and ruin, the Citadel embraced the future.
The galaxy, we are told, changed forever.

Summary
Shepard smiles but something about it feels off, like she’s tired but no amount of sleep will help. The scars crisscrossing her cheek betray that, and it makes his own sting.
The look on her face is gentle, something reserved just for the low lighting of the late hours. A trill she can’t hear vibrates in his chest. It’s good to have her back, even if there’s still a dissonance lingering because he spent the last two years mourning her and coming to terms with that, only for her to come blasting back into his life, as is her style.
“I missed you, Garrus,” she says. “That's so weird to say; I feel like it’s only been a few weeks, but… It’s like I went to sleep for a while and when I woke up everything was different.”
“Yeah,” he mutters. “Guess that’s taking some getting used to.”
Shepard must relearn her place in a galaxy that spent two years moving on and living without her; Garrus finds there are three women he must relearn: the Commander, Shepard, and Jane.

Summary
Miranda Lawson wakes up in the woods, covered in blood. Battered. The place painfully reminds her of Earth, although she is unsure how she ended up here. Her weapons, armor, biotics. All gone. Her suit—torn to shreds. She’s bleeding out. The last thing she remembers is Commander Shepard’s arctic blue eyes upon awakening from the medical coma on the Lazarus Research Station. Upon arrival at the Minuteman Space station, she disappears without a trace, leaving a mystery for Jacob Taylor and John Shepard to solve while the time is running out—the galaxy is already silently burning from the stings of the Collectors’ swarms.
What happened to Miranda? Who is behind the disappearance, and what’s she going to do when Miss Perfect loses her superior biotic abilities? How is she going to solve it? How can Commander John Shepard help her and the galaxy if she is an unapproachable, difficult to navigate ice queen? And just what secrets the Illusive Man, and her father, Henry Lawson, are trying to bury from the rest of the world?

Her own personal Noverian peak. That’s what it was supposed to be. Nothing but the discovery: no distractions, no comfort, no windows looking out—no familiar faces. But it's starting to look like her winning streak might have ended in that pile of Citadel rubble, if it ever extended that far to begin with.
In which Shepard doesn’t want to be found, and Garrus, of course, has other ideas.
────
One polished pauldron bobs. “How does the Earth idiom go? No use beating a dead—” A long-suffering sigh. “What was it again?”“A dead horse. And yet, you’re here. Beating it.”
Pot, kettle. She wishes he’d just fucking say it.

Summary
Her hand brushed gently against his mangled face. He was just starting to regain feeling in it. He shivered in anticipation. Her touch was so gentle.
He bent forward and pressed his forehead to hers. She anticipated his move and stretched up to meet him on the very tips of her toes.
“You did some research too, huh?” He asked her quietly.
“A little,” she said. “I’m nervous too. You’re my best friend, Garrus. But… you’re also my best friend.”
“Not sure I follow your logic there, Shepard.”
