Though, Movie-Kaiden was only recognisable as Kaiden because his introduction scene had ‘KAIDEN, CODENAME: DAREDEVIL’ flashing across the bottom of the screen. He sort of looked vaguely like him too, in the same way that a lovechild between Kaiden and James would look like him - and boy, was that a thought she should tuck away for later.

That is, until three years later when he meets John Shepard, and suddenly everything Esmee has known about being brave, of being a soldier, is flipped on its head. A fellow N7, Shepard poses a problem Esmee had never accounted for; Someone with the power to claw under his mask to unveil the real Ryder hidden under the sarcasm and lighthearted joking.
