Summary

____Sliding down the wall, Shane hunched over his untied sneakers, shoved on hastily when Coach had called him in for a meeting after morning skate.
“Boston wanted you specifically. I’ve already spoken to their GM. You’re flying this evening or tomorrow morning: I’ll confirm once the paperwork clears.”
“Mom,” Shane managed.
“Oh sweetie. I know, okay. Those fuckers, how dare they do this! Two fucking cups! Now all of a sudden they decide they want a reset and you’re going to fund it.”
Shane put his head between his knees and tried to breathe. God, Boston. They hated him there; it was so far away; he was fucking their captain.

Finally, Ilya exhaled hard, shoulders slumping just slightly as he turned around. “I don’t like sharing you.”
“I’m not shared,” Shane said softly. “You’re my boyfriend, he is my bestfriend.”
Ilya turned back, eyes still stormy. “I see the way he looks at you. Because he looks at you the same way I look at you.”
Shane’s mouth fell open, half grinning with amusement. Did Ilya really think Hayden was in love with him?
“Ilya, Hayden has a wife and four kids, what are you talking abo-”
“How could he not?!” Ilya cut him off. “You are perfect. Perfect son, perfect hockey player, perfect boyfriend, perfect friend!” He spits out, using air quotations to exaggerate the friend part.

OR: Ilya Rozanov is extremely jealous of Hayden Pike. Shane ends up in a situation needing help, and both Hayden and Ilya show up at the same time... chaos ensues as Hayden connects the dots.

Summary
Shane’s season comes to an end after an accidental trip leads to Ilya’s winning goal. Having been previously outed, his teams reaction isn’t great. All he wants to do is go to sleep so he can finally see Ilya tomorrow. There is a bad reaction though to the medication, and Shane ends up in the hospital. Now he has to convince everyone that he is going to be okay. By doing so he learns who and what is important to him, and when it is time to move on.
