    Gotham police chief ASSASINATED while fleeing the country; mob hit or personal vendetta?

    The newspaper lying on the floor read. More of the strange flyers have appeared on the streets recently. The blue text, along with the green comic or a denomination of it were starting to crop up online too. It was only then that you realised you had seen that green before. Not only on the posters. On the masks, too.

    Reader lives a grey life; she is as lonely as the men she criticises in her book club notes. She registers the strange flyers popping up, news of explosions and tension in the streets - but her temporary job as a flight attendant has dulled any will to do anything about it. She no longer has the fight of a valedictorian of Politology at Gotham University. She snaps out of it only because she had witnessed the result of those signs being ignored by many, first hand, gun pointed at her back.

    Author's note: English is not my first language. Written with Battinson in mind, with the charm of Bale batman and a few references to Gotham and Batman telltale. RIDDLER IS BATTINSON RIDDLER but Penguin is more of a mafioso than in the battinson verse (think Gotham).

    After the world forgot him, Peter kept fighting. He was Spider-Man after all. But as the villains get worse and the heroes dwindle, Peter finally grows tired. Hasn't he done his time? He's never once shirked the responsibility forced upon him. Never once has he put himself first.

    Eventually, the straw breaks the camel's back. Peter finally hangs up the cape.

    Unfortunately the universe seems to disagree. When Peter wakes up in Gotham he knows he should probably find a way home. But what's the point? Normal people don't find their way home across the multiverse, and Peter is normal now. He refuses to be anything else.

    So why do unfamiliar heroes keep ending up on his doorstep? And can he really turn them away?

    Summary

    Peter Parker regrets going to Doctor strange for help after Mysterio outed his identity to the world. Now he was trapped in a different universe, where he does not legally exist. There are also weird vigilantes here, who seem to be stalking him. Will Spider-man make an appearance? Or will Peter not last long enough in Gotham to make that decision?

    At Least it isn't painful, Peter thinks as he shuts his eyes, his senses going into overdrive.

    When he can no longer hold himself up, he allows his body to fall to the floor.

    He can hear a faint voice in the distance, trying to reach him. As a last act of defiance, he tunes into the voice.

    The last thing he can make out before falling unconscious is Doctor Strange's voice.

    “I’m sorry kid. This was the only way.”

    Summary

    Something goes wrong during the spell at the end of No Way Home, instead of everyone forgetting Peter Parker and getting sent back to their universes, the spell also sends Peter to a new universe.

    Stuck in Gotham with no money, legal identity, no way home(ha ha see what i did there), and struggling to deal with all the pent up trauma he has been harboring, Peter must find new footing in a universe completely different to his.

    *This is not and never will be beta read so just point out errors and inconsistencies in the comments so I can l fix 'em*
