Summary
Vi looks at the big clock on the far wall. 7:46AM. She’s one minute late today. Every morning for the past six months - well, every morning Vi’s been on shift, so she’s just assuming about the other days - she’s passed by at exactly 7:45AM, always at a brisk walk, always in a perfectly-tailored suit, not a single long, silky-looking hair out of place.
7:47AM. The crisp clack of heeled boots on concrete pulls Vi out of her musings. There must have been some sort of emergency, because the subject of Vi’s (minor) obsession walks past the fire station at a faster clip than normal. Which is sort of saying something, because Mystery Woman’s got legs for days, long and slender, visibly toned with long, lean muscle through her suit pants. At the faster clip, Vi has less time to admire her ass and tiny, tiny waist as she walks by, but that’s fine, because the view as she leaves is fantastic.

Caitlyn's route to work as a detective at the 51st Precinct takes her right by Fire Station #516, and Vi's been pining after the gorgeous Mystery Woman for six months...what will happen when she finds out that Caitlyn's a cop (AKA: The Enemy)?

Vi didn’t know what to say. She sucked in a long breath, the cold air brushing against her dry throat. Her lungs burned, heaving.
“Get Caitlyn,” she managed to force out. “Felicia’s gone.”
OR, when their daughter is taken, vi and caitlyn are pulled back into a game they never wanted to play.

Summary
It was a room. A very precarious state of what should be a room. Or maybe cell was a better description. There was a sink and a toilet on one side. A metal bed attached to the wall in front of her. Everything seemed very old, as if it had been stored and forgotten there for years.
Caitlyn saw she was not alone. Under the bed, occupying the smallest possible space, there was a person.
A child.
"What's your name? I'm Vi," she continued when there was no response. If Caitlyn couldn't see the girl's chest rising and falling, she'd doubt whether she was even alive. "This is Caitlyn. Who are you?"
The minutes passed. Caitlyn was already thinking of her fifth contingency plan when the child moved. An almost imperceptible movement. A slight lift of her neck, allowing for a better view of her intruders. "Lavender," her voice was thin, yet hoarse, as if it hadn't been exercised in a while.
"Nice to meet you, Lavender."

Summary
I have been fascinated with flowers and their meanings since I was a kid. It made sense as I was named after my mother’s favorite flower as well as being the daughter of a florist. Like a bee to pollen, I was attracted to the vast array of colors, shapes, and styles of them. Though, unlike my mother, I was terrible at keeping them alive.
So I found my own way of taking that passion for flowers and doing something with it outside of just growing and caring for them. I started to make my own artwork with them as the focal point in each drawing and sketch. After being raised by Vander and being shown the ways of tattooing, it only made sense for me to head down that path as well.
What didn't make sense was the council woman's pretty daughter coming into my parlor for an appointment on an ordinary afternoon.

Vi looked between the two of them, realizing that their injuries were all parallel.
“We’re like a mirror, you and I,” Caitlyn came to the same conclusion.
or
Caitlyn and Vi are both injured in the explosion at Jayce’s lab. They meet in the hospital at 15 and unknowingly change the fate of their cities for the better. They’re slow to figure it out and stubborn as hell but that fierce protectiveness for each other is what makes all the difference.
