"Wen Ruohan, if you were to ignore his unfortunate penchant for murder, was - in the grand scheme of things - not so bad. Not even in the top ten most heinous, terrible and wicked evil-doers, in Meng Yao's educated opinion; oh no. Wen Ruohan was, at least, an honest man. He never attempted to be anything other than what he was, was unmoved by unrealistic standards of righteousness, he appreciated a man's talent regardless of his background, and he had a taste for custom made designer red silk shirts which Meng Yao could appreciate. It would almost have been enough to draw Meng Yao to his side on a permanent basis – indeed, he likely would have been quite content to play the assassin for Wen Ruohan full time, had the man not made the fatal mistake of setting his sights on Gusu (and therefore, Lan Xichen) as his next target."
