"Hey," Shane says, settling on the bed beside him. "Look at me."
Ilya turns his head, and Shane can see how much he's struggling - the exhaustion in his eyes, the weight of everything he's been carrying pulling him down.
"I'm going to take care of you," Shane says. "Okay?"
Ilya's breath catches. "Shane-"
"You need this," Shane says. "You need to let go. And I'm going to help you."
"I don't know if I can," Ilya admits quietly.
"You can," Shane says. "I've got you. Just trust me."
Ilya searches his face for a long moment, then nods.
"Good," Shane says. "Get undressed and lie down on your stomach."
