Of course Kim Dokja awoke feeling worse than before. From childhood all the way to adulthood, he had never been able to bounce back easily from anything. Often, his one sick day would turn into a week, bedridden and miserable.
He figured some of it was due to his poor health. Too skinny, always weak. There was no way a person like that could build a strong immune system. It was unfair. But then he figured, the rest of it might be due to his lack of self care. (Surely there was a reason books and tv shows always showed sick people getting pampered with soups and cool towels. )
Though in his defense—no one ever taught him how.

Summary
Kim Dokja realizes it as soon as he sees Yoo Joonghyuk grab a fistful of soil to put in his mouth, or, more precisely, he realizes as soon as Yoo Joonghyuk drops the fistful of soil when he tells him to.
This Yoo Joonghyuk would do anything. And he won't remember doing it. So once Kim Dokja is done here and once he's back to his companions, the Yoo Joonghyuk of his turn, the one he knows, he won't remember any of it. And Kim Dokja can gloat about it, he can make the regressor do something stupid or embarrassing and carry those memories with him as some sort of unusable blackmail. Unfortunately, Kim Dokja can't bring himself to gloat.
He raises his hand and pats the top of Yoo Joonghyuk's head softly, as if scared that a touch too firm might shatter the man like a glass statue.
In this weird predicament with no consequences Kim Dokja learns that most of all he wants to be kind. He wants to give without the fear of being rejected, without the looming idea that Yoo Joonghyuk would remember, or react, or judge, or recoil or…
Kim Dokja is kind.

Before Joonghyuk can register his own movements, he lunges forward; his fingers close around Kim Dokja’s throat, lifting him and pinning him roughly to the wall. Unnervingly, the smile doesn’t leave Kim Dokja’s face.
“Yoo Joonghyuk,” he croons. “You won’t do anything to me.”
Yoo Joonghyuk's Diary can read the future; unfortunately, he's not the only one with this particular ability.
