Marinette groaned.
For both years Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste had done class photos, when they were 14 and when they were 15, Adrien and Marinette were near identical in height. The trusty old back-to-back check hadn't cut it. It was just one of those mysteries that would never be solved, like how Monarch could possibly launch eight akumas in three hours or when Andre Bourgeois would ever be kicked out of office.
But in the past year, Adrien had grown massively. An embarrassing amount more than Marinette. If Marinette stood to his back this year, she'd be like a gnome next to a prince. Weird. Kind of like someone else she knew.

A different way to experience the Brave the Waters series. Instead of reading each story separately, chapters and scenes from different perspectives are braided together to create a continuous, chronological timeline.
Begin at the beginning with the ancient myth of the Ocean, then follow Alix and Chloe through the 1800s into the new century. Marinette's story, the only one told in first person, begins in the early 1920s and closely intertwines with those of Juleka, Rose, and, for a short time, Kagami. We speed through the decades of the 1900s and finally arrive in 2001, where Adrien emerges to cast light on Marinette's dark life. They begin an impossible, forbidden love affair that can only end in tragedy.
Come join the chaos as we explore an AU full of supernatural creatures, found family, oodles of angst, and lots and lots of pining. The series motto is No Character Left Behind. I promise the worldbuilding isn't hard to understand. This isn't the kind of fantasy story that will give you a headache - except maybe from crying, if my readers are to be believed.
Happy endings for all! Kind of. Mostly.
