Kaveh is but a stressed and overworked office worker, and his only wish is to get through the stress of it all by spending his free time doing something productive and stimulating.
Something like an additional class or hobby, one that will keep him entertained and hopefully broaden his circle of friends (he wouldn't say no to something more, either).
So Tighnari, as Kaveh's best friend and also a little shit on occasion, signs him up for self-defense classes.
Except he kept one little tiny detail out: namely, the information that it was a one on one class.
