Bennett collapsed onto the pillow once again, this time giving a sporadic and muffled sigh. Rolling onto his side, Bennett cradled his blankets as if that would shield him from his nightly terrors.
They effectively did not. Instead, he let the thoughts brush through his skull as if it were as natural as breathing. Sometimes the past-midnight ‘conversations’ felt more genuine than inhaling and exhaling.
Bennett would never tell anyone that.
He’d never tell anyone about this part of his curse: the unfiltered, raw, almost inhuman portion. Surface-level curse knowledge was just fine for the adventurer. He could manage that, to some extent.

“That’s a little gay, yeah,” Uraraka says, sitting up. Izuku flops into a boneless, dramatic heap on the floor and helps himself to the chips on her low table. “I think it’s normal to notice someone’s attractive, though. Like, Bakugou is good-looking, unfortunately, so I doubt it’s all that weird to think about kissing him a couple times. Do you like him?”
“I,” Izuku says and then pauses. “I don’t know. I’ve never had a crush before.”
“Can you imagine going on a date?”
“Hrkl,” says Izuku.
