Yoojin had never truly regretted it.
Well, not quite. He had reconsidered it the first time, and the second time, and the third time and the many, many times after that. But it just paid so well, too well for him to ever consider seriously stopping. So he’d simply grit his teeth and got it along with and soon it just became another kind of normal, just another job in a string of taxing and thankless jobs that he could disassociate mid-way through the second he got on his back. There was no use regretting it and feeling sorry for himself, he’d thought, not when it allowed him to keep paying rent, to buy groceries, to keep Yoohyun safe and happy and well-fed.
Or: Yoojin is forced to make some tough choices after his parents die (please check the tags before reading)

“So,” Han Yoojin said, “Did you bring me here just to watch you cry when the love interest dies in the end, or was there a more important reason?”
Sung Hyunjae let out a fake gasp of shock at Han Yoojin’s words as he brought his hand to his mouth, as if horrified beyond belief.
“Spoilers, Han Yoojin! Hasn’t anyone ever told you that revealing the ending of a book when someone’s reading it is the worst crime there is?” Sung Hyunjae chided.
“I can think of a few worse ones,” Han Yoojin said dryly, tugging at his ropes pointedly.
Sung Hyunjae waved a hand dismissively.
“I’m sure I have no idea what you mean,” Sung Hyunjae responded airly.
“I mean you kidnapped me, Sung Hyunjae, and if you just wanted a blood bag my neck would be significantly sorer than it is right now. You brought me here for a reason - start talking,” Han Yoojin demanded.
