Summary
Mike didn’t know when everything started cracking. He didn’t know if it was in Lenora, when he refused to hug Will, or the argument at the roller rink, or if it started before then in the rain. In the rain, when he said those awful words to Will. Or maybe it all started on November 6th, 1983, when Will went missing.
Either way, Mike does not know when it began cracking, splintering, but he sure as hell knows the day, the moment, it broke. The moments leading up to it have all become blurry. It’s like from the moment Will saved him—no, the moment Will went comatose and then El came back—everything was a blur, like time sped up and Mike was just stuck standing still trying to catch glimpses of moments. Everything is a blur except the moment it broke.
