Summary
She hadn’t known much about the antagonist drug developed by Seiko Kimura; hadn’t cared much for its side-effects when she realised it could save her life. She’d taken it without care for the consequences, knowing it was her only chance at a future where neither she nor the man she loved had to die. When she’d awoken with not much else but a bruised arm and some dull aches, she’d been a little smug at how well her plan had worked.
Which was exactly why this felt like such a slap in the face.
- Years post DR3, Makoto and Kyoko decide to start a family. It proves more difficult than they expect.

“What is it, baby?” Daniel kisses the words into his skin; he sounds so young when he calls Armand that. “Whatever it is, I wanna give it to you.”
Armand worries his lower lip between his teeth as Daniel grazes his fangs over his pulse point. He closes his eyes tight.
“I want—ah—to let go of the reins for a while,” he says, feeling emboldened by Daniel’s enthusiasm and a little delirious from Daniel’s relentless torment of his skin with his fangs. “I want to feel small. I want you to—mmm—unleash… and take control… I want… I want you…” He takes a deep, shuddering breath and lowers his voice like it’s a secret. “I want you to dominate me.”

In which Armand asks Daniel to dom him for the first time, Daniel gets a bit weird about it, they miraculously talk about their feelings, and they have the greatest night of their lives.

Summary
Daniel didn’t know the history of the bath, but he probably would someday.
One day, his curiosity would get the better of him and he’d go digging to find the fossilised pieces of Armand’s past and start putting them together like palaeontologists do with dinosaur bones. And like them he wouldn’t get it right first try but it’s not like he would stop trying.
And the narrative where Armand was upset by the bath made more sense.
The actual fact, that Armand was sure of, was that he could have gone through with the bath and given Daniel no clues at all about any of his prior experiences if Daniel hadn’t asked Armand to affirm that he wanted it.
That had been the distressing part.

OR: Daniel treats Armand nicely enough that Armand starts wondering if the way people treated him in the past wasn't good enough.

Armand abruptly comes to a stop, halting Daniel as well.
“You make it sound easy,” Armand says, voice strained, “Loving me. No one else has ever thought so.”
