Summary
At the beginning of his senior year, Nursey immediately (if unwillingly) realizes two things in quick succession.
One: A large portion of the Samwell student body is apparently into Dex, even if the guy is completely oblivious to this fact.
And two: For reasons that Nursey refuses to verbalize, he has a pretty big problem with that.

Summary
“No,” Dex says, not looking up from his homework, the moment that Nursey bursts through the door of the basement bungalow. The man has at least finally learned to knock first, though he never actually waits for Dex to answer.
“I didn’t even say anything yet,” Nursey pouts.
Dex keeps his eyes fixed firmly on the textbook on his desk, refusing to glance back over his shoulder and see whatever stupid expression Nursey is probably making at him. Nursey has a full arsenal of expressions at his disposal that all seem tailormade to chip away at Dex’s steady resolve. And it’s been getting harder and harder over the years not to let anyone see that, especially Nursey.
“You didn’t have to,” Dex says. “I could hear you psyching yourself up on your way down the stairs.”

Summary
Of all the times and places to realize he’s in love... It honestly never occurred to Dex that it could happen in such an innocuous moment. Walking to class on a chilly November day in his senior year. Catching a glimpse of his linemate through the window of the local coffee shop. Feeling a sudden, intense want, so fiercely it nearly bowls him over.

Summary
“It’s just,” Nursey starts and stops. He heaves a breath that feels like it takes about forty-five years to complete. “When was the last time you felt absolutely and breathtakingly alive, ya know?”
Dex crosses his arms over his chest. “When was the last time you consumed something other than coffee?”

Summary
Stiles goes away to college, and Derek suddenly falls ill. Obviously, the two things are completely unrelated. And, obviously, Stiles doesn't make the drive back to Beacon Hills at every available opportunity, to the detriment of his academic career, because he's secretly in love with the guy. That would be ridiculous.

Summary
“Can I kiss you?”
Dex asks the question out of nowhere, and with so little inflection that it takes a full minute for Nursey to understand the individual words, let alone what exactly they mean when spoken in that order.

Summary
“Why is this here,” Dex says, completely flat and unamused, so that it comes out, not like a question, but like the start of a lengthy scolding before a fine.
Chowder glances up at the offending object, and then quickly back down at his homework. He shrugs a shoulder.
Dex remains unamused. “Christmas was over a week ago.”
“And yet its traditions live on.”

Summary
Stiles stands on the doorstep of the Hale house, bouncing on the balls of his feet in an attempt to stay warm in the freezing night air, and tries to tell himself that this isn’t a bad idea.
And it isn’t.
It’s an absolutely horrible one.

Summary
Dex rolls his eyes from the armchair next to Nursey. He’s been doing that a lot ever since they arrived about an hour ago, like Nursey immediately charming the socks off of Dex’s family is all some sort of prank. Like Nursey is only being polite in order to rile Dex up.
Which... Okay, fair. Dex’s annoyance is definitely a perk.
(or: Dex invites Nursey home for Thanksgiving, and Nursey falls in love a little harder.)

Summary
“You are the worst person to have to keep tracking down. Have I told you that recently?”
Derek sighs and opens his front door a little wider to let Stiles in. “Only every other time you’ve tracked me down.”

Summary
He can still hear Nursey’s voice clearly in his ears, all pseudo-casual and confident, his arm slung around Dex’s shoulders. But his tone was softer than usual. And a little lower than necessary, so that Chowder was probably the only other person who heard him.
Of course I voted for you.

Summary
Dex goes to bed his first night in the basement and wakes up in a slightly altered version of reality for the day.
A few nights later, it happens again. And again. And again...
Which is fine. Really. He will handle this insanity the same way he’s handled every other weirdness Samwell has thrown at him since he got here.
He’s just not sure how to deal with the implications of how often he wakes up in worlds where Nursey is in bed beside him.

Summary
“It isn’t real.”
Derek blinks, startled, and looks up from where he had definitely not been staring at Stiles’ long fingers wrapped around the neck of a beer bottle. “What isn’t?”
Stiles leans in closer, eyes darting around like he’s afraid someone might be listening in, as he stage whispers. He is definitely at least buzzed right now. “Me and Scott. Our whole relationship. We faked it.”

Summary
Jamie and Tyler admit their feelings for each other just as the Stars' season comes to a close in a game 7 loss in the second round of the playoffs.
Having the whole rest of the summer to figure things out between them sounds great on paper. But when they both already have plans to spend said summer thousands of miles apart, it gets a little trickier.

Summary
The new bouncer looks like he wouldn’t hurt a fly, and he blushes through a mumbled, “Um, Jamie,” when Tyler asks his name.
He’s big, sure, and those arms are definitely something Tyler will be more than happy to stare at from behind the bar all evening, especially in the tight T-shirt the guy’s wearing for his first shift. But Tyler’s pretty sure that “Um, Jamie” isn’t gonna last the night. He honestly doesn’t know what Monty was thinking when he hired him.

Summary
Nursey is the physical embodiment of the complete opposite of chill. “Dex, save me.”
“Who in their right mind would give you a baby?”
“Right?! I’m kinda afraid that if I touch it I’ll break it.”

Summary
Look, it is not Derek’s fault Stiles got back from his second year of college looking like that, okay? Maybe if someone had warned him that Stiles suddenly figured out what to do with his hair and how to dress himself and had apparently been hitting the gym pretty regularly, Derek might have been able to prepare for this.

Summary
“’What happens in Vegas,’ am I right?” Tyler grins and takes another swig of his beer.
Jamie is just sober enough to know the next words out of his mouth are a bad idea, and just drunk enough to say them anyway. “Hey, does that mean-- Like, if I were to tell you something while we’re here, we could just leave it behind when we get back to Dallas? Just, you know, pretend I never said it?”

Summary
He feels better if he keeps himself busy.
He always does, but right now more than ever. Maybe if he dives into the Christmas spirit with as much willful determination as he does any other project, he’ll successfully distract himself from the crushing weight of his loneliness this holiday season.

“No, we are not talking about this in the morning, Scott. That is not the plan. That plan sucks. I vote for the plan where someone actually gives me a direct answer.”
